Modern Slavery Statement
West Kensington Movers Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by West Kensington Movers in recognition of our responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting business ethically, with integrity, and in compliance with applicable laws relating to modern slavery and human rights.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
West Kensington Movers has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, servitude, and child labour. We do not tolerate such practices in our own activities or in any part of our supply chains. We expect the same high standards from all suppliers, contractors, and business partners who support our moving and relocation services.
All individuals working for or on behalf of West Kensington Movers, regardless of their role or location, are required to act in accordance with this policy. Any breach, suspected breach, or failure to uphold these principles is treated as a serious matter that may result in the termination of business relationships or other appropriate action.
Our Business and Supply Chains
West Kensington Movers provides residential and commercial moving, packing, storage, and related services. Our supply chains include providers of vehicles, fuel, packaging materials, storage facilities, equipment, maintenance services, and labour support, as well as professional and administrative services.
We recognise that certain areas of our supply chain may present a higher risk of labour exploitation, particularly where temporary, seasonal, or subcontracted labour is involved or where services are sourced from sectors traditionally exposed to labour rights concerns. We are committed to identifying and addressing these risks in a proactive and systematic way.
Supplier Standards and Audit Process
We seek to work only with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to ethical labour practices. As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing engagement, we set out our expectations that suppliers:
Comply with all relevant employment, labour, and human rights laws in the jurisdictions in which they operate. Do not engage in forced, bonded, or involuntary labour of any kind. Do not use child labour and ensure that all workers are employed of their own free will and are free to leave with reasonable notice. Provide safe and healthy working conditions and fair terms of employment, including fair wages and working hours.
West Kensington Movers conducts proportionate supplier reviews and audits, focusing on higher-risk suppliers and categories. These checks may include due diligence questionnaires, requests for supporting documentation, and site visits where appropriate. Where concerns are identified, we seek corrective action plans and reserve the right to suspend or terminate relationships where issues are not satisfactorily resolved.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
We encourage anyone connected with West Kensington Movers, including employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers, to raise concerns about potential modern slavery or human trafficking in our business or supply chains. Concerns may include suspicious working conditions, evidence of coercion, withholding of identification documents, or other indications of exploitation.
Reports can be made to line managers, senior management, or through existing internal reporting channels. We will handle all reports sensitively, investigate them promptly, and take appropriate action. West Kensington Movers does not tolerate victimisation of any person who raises concerns in good faith, and we will take steps to protect whistleblowers from detrimental treatment.
Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff and key suppliers. Relevant employees receive guidance on recognising the signs of exploitation and on the correct procedures for reporting concerns. We regularly review our processes to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to the nature of our business and supply chains.
Monitoring and Annual Review
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by the leadership of West Kensington Movers to assess its continued suitability, effectiveness, and alignment with legal requirements and best practice. As part of this review, we consider any incidents reported, audit findings, feedback from staff and suppliers, and developments in legislation or industry standards.
Where necessary, we will update our policies, procedures, training, and supplier requirements to strengthen our approach to combating modern slavery and human trafficking. Our aim is to foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and respect for human rights in every aspect of our operations.
This statement has been approved by the management of West Kensington Movers and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery in our business and supply chains.
